What goes well with melted chocolate? Teamwork! Chef crafted vegan mousse is submerged in a dark hot chocolate with a hint of smoky maple syrup from our grocer’s shelves. Topped with housemade toasted gingerbread from our bakery and finished with a sprinkle of ancho spice. Stir it up to create a silky smooth treat! Dairy free milk upgrade is available.

This hot chocolate is $5.99 and you have the option to add a shot a maple whiskey for an additional $3.00. It is a very simple drink with an interesting flavour. Throughout this drink I was trying to figure out what the hot chocolate tasted like and I couldn’t figure it out. They used a vegan tofu mousse in the hot chocolate which gave it a healthy taste to it. I thought it was a little too much ancho chili on the top, but the gingerbread was very good and a nice topping.

Overall if you are looking for a healthy hot chocolate this one is for you.

February is the month of love. Our Cherry Kiss is here to bring the city together! Sharing what we love about local ingredients & giving inspiration for delicious homemade goodies. Want to kick it up a notch? Ask for the Cherry Almond Kiss, doctored up with an ounce of Amaretto.

This hot chocolate can be made with alcohol for $9.00 or without alcohol for $6.00. Both beverages look identical and are equally delicious. Unfortunately when we got there they had run out of the Amaretto so they gave use a choice of alcohol to add, we selected Frangelico which is a nutty liqueur. This hot chocolate has homemade cherry syrup and homemade marshmallows with candied dusting around the mug. This drink is topped with brandy flavoured cherries. These drinks were so delicious.

We do wish that we could taste the cherry a little more in the beverages.

We start with a base of our delectable “Irish Fog” black tea (Irish Cream flavour) and blend in locally provided cocoa powder from our neighbour the Spice Merchant. We add in vanilla syrup to our frothed milk, dairy or other, top with real whipped cream and chocolate dust. Simply divine.

This hot chocolate is $6.00 and is the best tea infused hot chocolate thus far. It is not watery or anything, it is very creamy and has amazing flavour. We were pleasantly surprised when we tasted this drink, we were excited that the flavour of the tea combined with the chocolate powder  really worked together. We liked it so much that we bought everything to make this at home.

We were very happy to hear that the owner of Totalitea was the one who created this beverage.

Reese’s Pieces Hot Chocolate – Peanut butter hot chocolate, Topped with whipped cream, and a peanut butter Drizzle!

This hot chocolate is $6.75 and tastes like liquid peanut butter. The flavour is amazing and has fresh whip cream and liquid peanut butter on the top for garnish. The first few sips was a nice subtle flavour of peanut butter, but by the time you get to the last quarter of the drink, it has the strongest peanut butter flavour. I love peanut butter, but this was even too strong for me.

This drink was made by an employee that had a customer request the flavour. The employee mentioned that it took multiple attempts to layer the flavour just right.

A red-hot winter creation. The deep cocoa flavour and tangy sweet cream-cheese taste combine to bring all the beloved flavours of a classic Red Velvet Cake. Waffle and whipped cream on top? Why not!

This hot chocolate is $7.00 and it had a slice of waffle and half strawberry on it. This hot chocolate is pink and had great chocolate flavour. We could not taste the cream cheese, but when we asked they said it was subtly mixed into the chocolate. They used Lindt white chocolate since it is a little sweeter than a normal chocolate. The hot chocolate stayed hot throughout the whole drink which is a bonus. The waffle on top is delicious and we will definitely have to come back and have the waffles.  Go get this one while you can.  Super Good!!

Named for Alberta’s rich fossil deposits, this is one of the richest hot chocolates you’ll ever devour. An herbivorous orange and cardamom syrup, hunted by a fiercely dark chocolate sauce in fresh micro-foam milk, topped with a salted caramel marshmallosaurus.

This hot chocolate comes in two sizes, medium for $6.00 and large for $6.75 and has an amazing dinosaur marshmallow. The blood orange cardamom syrup is made in house just like the vanilla marshmallow. You can really taste the blood orange and cardamom in the hot chocolate.

We do wish the hot chocolate was hotter, it was more room temperature.

This is their first year participating and they were excited to help such a great cause.

This protein packed Collagen Hot Chocolate is a deliciously thick, creamy, healthy hot chocolate. To learn more about the benefits of collagen visit: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/collagen-benefits#section1

This hot chocolate is $5.00 and is very healthy. The collagen protein is the same that is in the human body and this hot chocolate boosts the protein. This hot chocolate is very creamy and very chocolatey, it didn’t have any weird tastes, it tasted like a normal hot chocolate.

This new location is located in a medical billing and it is completely worth the drive. Unfortunately you have to pay for parking and she is only open Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm.

It was also exciting to hear the owner, Jessica, created the drink.

Hot Chocolate + Honey, they were meant to bee 🐝 Looking for a fresh take on a classic hot chocolate? Look no further! At Cucina, we’ve paired our delicious dairy free chocolate with our rooftop honey to create the perfect cup of cocoa. How do we make YYC Hot Chocolate Fest even tastier? We include a delectable secret family recipe honey cookie! Enjoy our creation while you can!!

This hot chocolate is $5.20 and it had really good flavour. Unfortunately, we had to get the drinks to go since they were getting ready for the lunch rush. It seemed like we were an inconvenience to them and really felt like we were not welcome. The hot chocolate was not anything fancy.  It was sweetened with their rooftop honey which is super cool. The saving grace of this experience was the honey cookie, it was a really good cookie.

Unfortunately we will not be visiting this location again in the future after the experience we received here today.

Cornerstone Music Cafe

Our signature hot cocoa with a shot of espresso and topped with a dollop of whipping cream. Finished with house-made honeycomb pieces and a sprinke of fleur de sel.

This hot chocolate can be made in three sizes, small for $5.75, medium for $6.50, and large for $7.00. The barista making the drinks was very flexible when making them. We got them the way they sell them, but another family came in and got the drink without the espresso shot for their kids. The honeycomb was very delicious, it tasted like what the inside of a Crunchy tastes like. We could slightly taste cinnamon and we believe that the espresso really made the cinnamon less pronounced. The lady that had the one without the espresso said that you could really taste the cinnamon.

We found this hot chocolate just okay, it was just not to the level we expected. It was a little disappointing.
